And then, I've been thinking lately about how our Pumpkin is getting to the stage where she actually wants to be out of the stroller when nosotros get somewhere now. And as much as I'd like to give her some freedom, I worry well-nigh her letting become of my hand and dashing into a dangerous state of affairs.

I've seen other parents using "prophylactic leashes" with toddlers, and I have to admit I take mixed feelings about information technology.

Before I had a child of my ain, I idea the baby on a ternion concept was crazy! A child is non a pet and shouldn't be treated as such – that was my line of thinking. Just now that I have an independent toddler I can encounter the genius of the leash. It would allow the kid a chip of independence to explore while all the same ensuring that they are within artillery attain of the parent. Non that I think a parent should always rely on a leash to keep their child safe- a parents still has to watch the baby every 2d. It merely seems like having the tether betwixt your child and you would eliminate those scary moments when a child dashed towards a road or into a crowd.

What do you think? I am still caught between thinking that a baby ternion would be a great tool, but too feeling similar it might be somewhat demeaning to my daughter to take a leash not different a pet canis familiaris. And if I'm honest I'yard also a fleck afraid of the looks I might become. I remember all too well how I idea I knew how to exist a keen parent…all earlier I actually was one! And Lord knows I had some serious judgment when I saw a toddler on a leash in those days!!

What exercise y'all all retrieve? Has anyone had experience with safety leashes? I'd love to know what other people call up when they see a infant on a leash?!?
